Enrollment for Leadership Owen County now open

Are you ready to invest in the future of Owen County? Leadership Owen County will set you on the right track. Enrollment in the 2024 class is now open and will continue through 5 p.m., Oct. 31, 2023.

Leadership Owen County is a pathway to leadership opportunities in the community. The Committee seeks a diverse class professionally, geographically, and ethnically. Its mission is to inspire community leadership through leadership development, building relationships and networking, community awareness, development, and education.

The class typically meets on the first Wednesday of each month with sessions focusing on a topic such as agriculture, economic development, public service, government, education, healthcare, history, and culture. Class members will go on walking tours of organizations and sites and interact with community leaders. Sessions typically last an average of five hours, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 3 p.m.

Please read the following application carefully to determine whether this program is right for you. Leadership Owen County requires a rigorous attendance commitment, which includes mandatory attendance to the annual Chamber meeting on the evening of Jan. 11, 2024, and the Leadership Retreat on March 6, 2024. Class members must attend a minimum of 80 percent of all sessions. Any participant missing two (2) class day sessions will not graduate from the program.

Tuition is $100 for Owen County Chamber of Commerce members and $125 for non-Chamber members. Tuition is due on or before Feb. 15, 2024. Tuition is non-refundable.

A limited number of scholarships are available. If you seek financial assistance, please provide, with the application, a letter to be used as an official request stating your reasons for tuition scholarship assistance. If you fail to include your official request for tuition scholarship assistance with your application, your request will not be considered. Scholarship requests are confidential.
